Country song has not been a very welcoming place for gays bit its nice to hear one of its biggest stars produce some common sense remarks about gay marriage:
That whole gay issue thing, thats never bothered me, Toby Keith told CMT Insider. Ive never seen what that affects and [why] anybody should care and they never do affect me. First of all, were going to interrupt somebody from getting a marriage license because theyre gay? You wont stop them from living together, so what have you accomplished? Wasting a lot of money here and a lot of time that could be spent working on this deficit that were under I never saw the reasoning behind getting in peoples personal lives.

That whole homosexual issue thing, that's never bothered me. I've never seen what that affects and [why] anybody should care -- and they never do affect me." Toby also shared his opinion on the subject of same-sex attracted marriage, saying, "First of all, we're going to cease somebody from getting a marriage license because they're gay? When intolerance is handed down to the next generation, it leads to bullying, often ending in tragedy. So its especially important when someone from country-music country comes out as pro-gay-marriage—or at least with a who cares? attitude.
