In , photographer and filmmaker Michel Auder documented the revolts in Paris, but missing the footage shortly after when he moved to the United States. Exactly ten years after the events, Auder restored these cinematic memories with MAY ’68 IN ’78 by entering into dialogue with Parisian artists, workers, a policeman, and a saleswoman, interviewing them about their personal memories of May

MAY ’68 IN ’78 paints a polyphonic portrait of the different roles and views the interviewees took during the protests and in retrospect. While some were actively involved themselves, others perceived the protests as a nuisance or simply classified them as insignificant.     In former socialist countries – and Slovenia as one of the former Yugoslav republics is no exception here – many changes have occurred over the last years. While old narrative forms have been adapted to suit the new circumstances, some new narrative forms have appeared as adequately. At present, the idea of folk narrative in Slovenia can be considered according to the accompanying six conceptual frameworks: authentic contexts and functions; folk narrative as part of the cultural landscape; folklore groups, cultural societies, and tourist events; folk narrative performance; application of folk narrative in art; contemporary legends and narratives in electronic and mass media.
