Cities and Memory is one of the world&#;s biggest sound projects, covering countriesand territories with more than 7, sounds and more than 2, contributing artists.

With the aim of remixing the world, one sound at a time, thousands of field recordings are reimagined by our global community of sound artists and musicians to create an entirely new build of listening. Cities and Memory is completely open to anyone in the world to obtain part.

Ullapool is full of souvenir/craft shops, guest houses and hotels, it bustles all day long in summertime with people arriving off the ferry from Stornoway on Lewis or waiting for the next one. The town has the Lochbroom leisure centre with sports facilities and swimming pool (open daily - tel: ), library, grocery shop, bank, butcher's shop, chemist (pharmacy/drug store), supermarket, post office and petrol stations. Boat trips are available to the nearby Summer Isles (see below).
Internet access is available at the Ullapool Book Shop near Lochbroom Hardware and The Captain's Cabin (crafts & gifts) which are all situated close to the ferry terminal.

Ullapool is a great centre for hillwalking (see below) and it's an ideal anchor for touring the stunning landscape of the north-west Highlands. You might be able to spot some deer around here. Golf course - 9 holes split over the shores of Loch Broom and Ullapool River (telephone ). Tennis courts too.

A Gay Couple&#;s Camper Road Trip to the Scottish Highlands | Part 1

Our day road trip around the Scottish Highlands

Spending the night together in the sheer endless and rugged Scottish landscapes, getting up with the star (or the rain) and enjoying the here and now hand in hand… With this trip to Scotland, we fulfilled a long-cherished dream. When planning the trip, we quickly realized that the 12 days we had planned would definitely not be enough to see all the impressive things the Scottish Highlands has to offer. So, we tried to keep our ambitions realistic and focused on one part of Scotland. And this is what our road trip itinerary through the Scottish Highlands looked like: From Edinburgh via Glencoe to the Isle of Skye and on the way back via Inverness to Glasgow.

These are some of the most popular local venues:

Pubs and bars for traditional Scottish Music incorporate Hootananny / Mad Hatters (Church Street) and the The Gellions (Bridge Street). An Seomar and SOUNDBAR are new bars including Scottish music (Church Street). There's often live tune atJohnny Foxes (Bank Highway, overlooking the river), Encore Une Fois (in Youthful Street just over the main bridge), the Market Bar (Church Street) and The Tooth & Claw (tucked away in Baron Taylor's Street).
There's also Whisky Gigs at The Malt Room on Saturdays nights once a month. The Highland Malt Whisky Experience at Macgregors (end of Academy Street) combines whisky tasting, history, story, legend and melody of the Scottish Highlands (weekday evenings from April to October).
The Victorian Market in the municipality centre often has reside music at weekends in the newly refurbished Meal and Drink Hall.
