Brisbane’s biggest and optimal rainbow festival will restore to The Wickham Hotel on Sunday 1st May for its 22nd instalment. Closing down an inner-city street outside The Wickham for its main stage, Big Gay Day has evolved into one of Brisbane’s biggest street parties, and the festival will include a fabulous line-up of popstars, drag queens, musicians, and DJs.
Headlines acts for are Courtney Act and pop star Vanessa Amorosi, supported by a line up including Faker, DJ Glitter, Kinder, Jawbreakers.
This celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community also supports local charities, with a portion of the proceeds from the event benefiting Diverse Voices and 2Spirits.
“We are so proud of this fabulous celebration,” said Owen Bevan, Australian Venue Co Area Manager. “The Big Gay Event is not only a diurnal for the LGBTQIA+ and wider community to approach together and enjoy incredible acts onstage and in The Wickham Hotel, but we raise tens of thousands of dollars for charities that really construct a difference.”

Brisbane’s biggest and best rainbow festival will be returning in for its 25th installment! Featuring musical acts, drag extravaganzas and so much more rainbow adoration all in support of local LGBTQIA+ charities.
Established in as a celebration of the LGBTQIA+ society and a way to lift vital funds for charities, Huge Gay Day has evolved to one of Brisbane’s biggest road parties. The event now closes down an inner city highway to drop in an monumental main stage, Big Gay Night brings an incredible line up of local, national & international LGBTQIA+ entertainers to Brisbane.
Hundreds of acts have graced the Large Gay Day stage, including legends like Boy George, Sporty Spice and most recently, The Veronicas.
Big Gay Day saw over 3, people through the doors with a substantial donation raised for LGBTQIA+ charity QLife. The stages were filled with incredible acts like Melanie C (DJ Set), Sneaky Sound System, Lady Bunny, Tall Paul (UK) and a drag extravaganza featuring over 30 of Brisbane’s best drag performers!
Big Gay Day Brisbane Date And Line-Up
Hitting the street on 1 May, the festival will be the ultimate rainbow celebration featuring a fabulous line-up of pop stars, queenly queens, musicians and DJs.
The festival has evolved into one of Brisbane’s biggest street parties, supporting local charities and with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Diverse Voices and 2Spirits.
